The Department of Angiology and Vascular Surgery has leading specialists in the treatment of all types of vascular diseases. From the treatment of arterial thrombosis to deep vein thrombosis and PTE (pulmonary thromboembolism). The vascular service of Clínica Rotger has introduced treatment with pharmacomechanical fibrinolysis thanks to the EKOS device from Boston-Scientific.

In addition, the Vascular Surgery team has the latest technology for the treatment of varicose veins: the Nd-Yag laser, the Venaseal and the ClosureFast radiofrequency system allow for fast, minimally invasive and very effective interventions.

Clínica Rotger offers personalised examinations and treatments. During the first consultation, the vessels are first examined, the symptoms are assessed and a haemodynamic examination is performed. With this information, the specialist can clear the patient's doubts and agree on an individualised treatment.

Endovascular repair of the thoracoabdominal aorta with branched endoprosthesis.

This complex operation, performed by the specialists at Clínica Rotger, can correct the potentially fatal dilatation of the aorta endoscopically.

The aorta is the largest artery in the human body. It starts in the heart, runs through the chest and reaches the abdomen, supplying the major organs of the body. An aortic aneurysm is a widening of the artery at a specific point along its length, and most commonly occurs in the abdomen.

Unfortunately, these aneurysms are silent and virtually asymptomatic, except in some cases where there is a feeling of constant, deep pain in the abdomen, pain in the back or the sensation of a pulse in the navel.

Although the incidence in the population is relatively low and men are more commonly affected than women, the disease should be monitored, especially if there is a history in first-degree relatives or a risk factor such as smoking or COPD. It is usually easy to diagnose with an ultrasound or CT scan, so regular screening and vascular examinations are recommended, especially in older patients.

Endovascular repair involves implanting a modular tubular prosthesis into the aorta and its branches to vital organs such as the stomach, liver, intestines or kidneys through minimal incisions in the groin or armpit. This channels blood flow through one of the body's major arteries and corrects the aneurysm or thoracoabdominal deformity that, if left untreated, could rupture and cause severe, life-threatening internal bleeding.

This minimally invasive procedure catheterises and directs blood flow through this major blood vessel and its branches to vital organs such as the stomach, liver, intestines and kidneys.
