Internal Medicine

The department of Internal Medicine offers a comprehensive care for adult patients. The cooperation with the Emergency Unit and the Intensive Care Unit ensures that   emergency patients receive a better care and a treatment according to the protocol.

Beside the diagnosis and the treatment of patients with a concrete disease, the internist acts as adviser in health promotion programmes. These programmes include examinations which enable an individually adjusted study, according to age, gender, lifestyle, personal and family backgrounds, personal surroundings and interests of the person concerned.

On the ward the specialists attend to hospitalized patients of the Unit, and other hospitalized patients in the clinic, with complex or multiple pathologies, who need the additional intervention by an internist.

Outpatient clinic

Care of patients with multiple symptoms or difficult diagnosis, and treatment of all prevalent pathologies in adults, as well as controls and periodic reviews of chronic conditions.

The teamwork allows a comprehensive care and a service which is considered as reference for the other specialties of the centre.

Medical Check

The Internal Medicine Service coordinates various prevention programmes aimed at those who are concerned about their health. A range of personalised medical check-ups are especially recommended for people over the age of 40.

The Internal Medicine Department plans an ideal circuit of tests according to objective criteria such as sex or age. And all the specialists are coordinated to obtain a specific assessment from the perspective of each expert and finally a comprehensive and complete diagnosis of the patient's state of health.

Each check-up consists of a fast and efficient circuit, which allows all the tests to be carried out in one morning, in total comfort. The patient is accompanied at all times by a personal assistant who guides and informs him/her throughout the process.

Once the tests have been carried out, on the same day, a medical evaluation is made and the patient is informed. Finally, the patient is given a complete dossier with the reports and images of all the tests and examinations carried out, together with the detailed final report from the medical coordinator of the check-up.
