Traumatology for  politrauma
· Assistance and follow-up care of patients who visit the Emergency Unit with pathologies

Orthopedics
· Specialized care for all areas of the locomotor system

Sports Traumatology
· Adaptation to the behaviour requirements in relation with specific sports activities

Primary and revision prosthetic surgery of different articulations
· Different prosthetic methods for hip, knee and shoulder
- Hip
- Knee
- Shoulder

Osteosynthesis by means of minimally invasive techniques

Particularly complex arthroscopy

· Minimally invasive surgical techniques, for the treatment of complex pathologies as crutiate ligament injuries of the knee, or shoulder dislocation. With these techniques the surgical intervention  is less aggressive for the articulation and the recovery time is shorter. In such procedures the Unit always works in close cooperation with the Rehabilitation department of Clinica Rotger.

Microsurgical operations
· Microsurgical operations for vascular, and nerve injuries of the extremities

Orthopaedic and traumatological pathologies of the spinal column
· In close cooperation with the Neurosurgery and Pain Therapy Units

Reconstructive forefoot surgery
· Major ambulatory surgery for the correction of foot deformities as bunion, hallux valgus, claw toes or hammer toes, heel spur, plantar fasciitis, or osteotomy in the treatment of metatarsalgia.

Specific shoulder and hand surgery
· Treatment of pathologies as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendon pathologies, tenosynovitis, ulnar nerve entrapment, Dupuytren's disease, arthroplasty, arthrodesis, trigger fingers, epicondylitis or “tennis elbow”.

Knee Prosthesis

Knee Prosthesis

This surgical technique restores the articular surfaces of the patient's natural knee by means of a prosthesis.

The procedure is performed when the patient's knee is worn out, in pain or prevents functional mobility and conservative treatments do not provide favourable results.

After the operation and once the postoperative process has been overcome, knee prostheses allow movements and activities that were previously very painful.

The Orthopaedic Surgery team has extensive experience in the replacement and revision treatment of joint prostheses that do not have the clinical results expected by patients.

Hip Replacement

Hip Replacement

Replacement of the fractured or worn out hip due to osteoarthritis or other diseases, with an artificial prosthesis.

This technique is indicated for patients with advanced joint problems that are not susceptible to more conservative treatments.

This intervention has advantages such as:

- Pain relief
- Immediate improvement in quality of life
- Early recovery of mobility.

The application of this technique requires a complete study of the patient's morphology and an analysis of the state of their bone structure.
