The Clinica Rotger's Internal Medicine unit provides adult patients with a general healthcare service. The unit is staffed by a team of 4 doctors whose main task is to take care of admitted hospital patients. The unit encompasses not only patients who have been admitted within the service but also offers its consultancy services to other patients in hospital who require their assistance, due to the complexity or plural nature of their conditions. Its role is not limited to coordination and distribution, but rather assumes complete responsibility for its patients, consulting with other specialists whenever necessary.
The unit works closely with the emergency ward and the intensive care unit, allowing for what is ultimately better and more efficient care for each patient.
The internal medicine unit also holds an important role within the field of outpatient consultations. In this field, the unit offers its comprehensive and all-encompassing outlook, focusing on providing care to patients presenting various symptoms, to patients with difficult diagnoses, as well as for all common diseases in adults, offering to control and monitor chronic illnesses. Our focus on teamwork allows us to provide comprehensive care and to act as a leading example for the centre's other specialisms.
Our internal medicine specialists do not limit themselves to professional diagnosis and treatment of a specific process, but also act as consultants in the prevention of illness. They also inspire programmes for the promotion of health such as personalised check ups. These check ups are a personalised analysis of each individual depending on their age, sex, habits, personal and familial background, surroundings and personal concerns, and as such make the most of all available resources.
